Add DocHub to your Google Drive as an app to open & edit documents

If you'd like to connect DocHub to your Google Drive as an app so that you can open files with DocHub from within Drive, go to Google Drive and right-click on a PDF or other files and choose Open With Connect more apps. Then, search for DocHub and click on  + CONNECT

Once DocHub has been added to your Google Drive as an app, you can right-click on any file in your Drive and choose Open With  DocHub, and when you set DocHub as the default app for opening files, you can just double-click on a file to open it in DocHub. When you connect DocHub to your Drive, it should be set automatically as the default app for opening PDFs and other files in Google Drive, but you can also manually designate DocHub as the default app by clicking on the gear icon in the upper right of your Google Drive and choose Settings. Then, click on Manage Apps on the left side and check the box labeled 'Use by default' next to DocHub in the list.  To view a full list of all the supported file types that you can open with DocHub, refer to the article below:

Connecting DocHub to your Google Drive will also add it to your Gmail for opening file attachments in DocHub. Whenever you select an email attachment for preview, you'll see an Open With button above the file preview that you can click on and choose DocHub.

Once you are finished editing or signing your PDF in DocHub, you can save the PDF back to your Google Drive and choose whether you'd like to overwrite the original file or save a new, duplicate file. You'll also be able to control whether to save the file in its original folder or choose a new destination folder for it. You can learn more about all of the different ways to export your file from DocHub in our article for How do I download or export my edited PDF?.

Chrome Extension for DocHub
You can add DocHub as a Chrome Extension by going to the Chrome Web Store. and choose to Connect DocHub in Chrome or Firefox.

In early December 2017, Google removed the Apps section from the Chrome Web Store, so you'll notice that DocHub is shown as being in in the Extensions category if you try to view it in the Chrome web browser. You can still connect apps like DocHub to your Google Drive in any web browser by following the instructions in this article, but you won't find DocHub any longer if you search for it in the Chrome Web Store. Google announced that they will eventually remove apps entirely from Google Drive at some point in 2018 but hasn't said specifically when that will happen. For now, you can keep using DocHub as an app in your Google Drive as you have been doing for now, and we'll provide instructions for how to switch to the extension or how to access DocHub to edit and sign PDFs another way when Google finally does remove all apps from the Chrome Web Store and Google Drive.
